BWHS UPDATE–May 1, 2010
AUGUST GIRLS CAMP & GDI PARTNERSHIP

AUGUST GIRLS CAMP!

BWHS is excited to announce we will be adding a Girls Program for the week of August 16-20th, 2010 at Brentwood Arena.  BWHS is equally excited that Tracey Lehowy will join Brad as the lead on ice instructor.  Tracey Lehowy had an exceptional playing career with the Canadian Women’s National team and since then has firmly established herself as a leading coach in women’s hockey.  Tracy’s reputation and ability with skill development are exceptional and we are fortunate to have a coach of her background and ability.  Tracy has been a part of BWHS in the past and we are happy to welcome her back.

GDI PARTNERSHIP! Elite Goaltender Instruction

BWHS is also thrilled to have formed an alliance with the foremost name in Goaltender Development.  GDI will be providing goaltender instruction for the 16 goalies during main camp from August 23-27, 2010 and for the 12 goalie during the Bantam/Midget Elite Camp from August 16-20, 2010.

Goalies will receive maximum development while being exposed to exceptional goaltending instruction, a very high number of shots and daily game situations over the course of the week. In addition every goaltender enrolled will receive a goaltender session at GDI’s goalie specific training center (to be scheduled with GDI staff during the upcoming season).  Please email hockey.info@shaw.ca before you register for the goalie program to ensure availability.  Limited spots are still available in the Novice, PeeWee and Bantam groupings for the August 23-27, 2010 main camp.  Limited spots are also available for the August 16-20, 2010 Bantam/Midget Elite Camp.

BWHS – MAIN CAMP - August 23-27, 2010 – Brentwood Arena

This will be the 7th Annual BWHS and as we do every year, we will again be improving the daily schedule and program to maximize skill development and the enjoyment of all participants.  This year there will be more prizes and more competitive games to ensure all players are excited and “dialed in” for the upcoming season.  There will also be video review of puck and skating skills (more details to follow!).  This will help provide visual aids for participants to better understand where their greatest improvements can be made.

We have worked very hard to ensure maximum learning and development take place in an encouraging and fun atmosphere.  The goal for each participant is to return home at the end of the day a much better player, exhausted and telling stories about the great time they had.  Based on our commitment to this principle we are confident players have received a superior hockey experience and will continue to do so.

Thanks again to all those who participated in the 2009 BWHS.  The attitudes and work ethics were exceptional and we look forward to seeing many of you again along with many new faces come August 2010.

BWHS – ELITE CAMP – August 16-20, 2010 - Brentwood Arena

2009 was the first year for the BWHS Elite Prep Camp and based on the positive response (and proximity to AA/AAA tryouts) we have decided to hold the camp a week before the main BWHS.  These dates will allow Bantam and Midget players trying out for quadrant hockey to fully sharpen their skills and have a few days rest before tryouts start the following week.

This is a highly demanding program designed to maximize a player’s physical skill, decision making and conditioning heading into tryouts.  It will provide players who are serious about maximizing their potential the full opportunity to do so.  To ensure players are competing, learning, improving and enjoying themselves, daily and weekly Awards will be presented to the hardest workers, best attitudes and most skilled.  We look forward to help make the good players better and the great players exceptional.
